Alpha 0.2.1 - Update


Hey there! Abstraction Point's Alpha 0.2.1 has just been released, and with it comes a few new things, but mostly fixes and preparations for future builds.

This builds has introduced new things and fixed others, such as:

  • Player Effects: The player can now get different effects throughout their journey, for instance: Bleeding, which is caused by bullet hits, and will drain your Physical Health, before its diminished by a Bandage. Temperature has also been included, meaning that you can either freeze or burn to death. The UI for such effects has also been fully implemented!
  • Inventory Rework: The inventory is currently being improved and reworked so that it's a more versatile and dependable system. Sadly, I wasn't able to fully reintroduce attachments, meaning you still can't equip and dequip your own ones. Some weapons, however, come with them by default. There could be bugs in the system still!
  • Several Fixes: Including a fix to the sentry's laser, a few level-specific mishaps, and a big performance boost for the Research Center level!
  • New Settings: V-Sync can now be changed, as well as the Canvas Scale's Match Mode value, to make sure the UI fits into any aspect ratio! The game was also limited to 60 FPS, to ensure the game runs at the intended rate.
  • New Items: Bandages and Cigarettes are now available items ingame. The bandages are for bleeding, and the cigarettes are for negating stress. Stress as a player effect has not been implemented yet but will be in the next update.
